Chameleons are known to change their body color to blend in with the environment for self-protection purposes, which is a polymorphic survival strategy in biology (PSSB) [20]. Inspired by this strategy, we assume that the target value represents the survival environment, whose change pattern is unknown. To adapt to the changing environment over time, our algorithm selects a suitable fitting function to approximate the target value based on its changes. This process is repeated throughout the observation period, segmenting the trend of the target value and forming a complete fitting curve, as shown in Figure 1.
