Yeast is not part of an egg. Yeast is a type of fungus that is commonly used in baking to help dough rise. The three parts of an egg are the yolk, the white (also known as the albumen), and the shell. The chalaza is a spiral-like structure that helps to anchor the yolk in place within the egg white, while the germinal spot (also known as the blastoderm) is a small white spot on the surface of the yolk that contains the genetic material necessary for fertilization and embryonic development. The shell is the hard outer covering that protects the contents of the egg.
